Just a quick update before we dive into what I’ve got to show you today: my next Frog’s Bucket List book is well on the way. Lots of froggy summer holiday activities are in progress. I’m very excited about it actually. So watch this space, I’m really hoping I can release it later this year. However, for this long Easter weekend, I thought it would be a nice opportunity to do a Frog’s Bucket List ‘Easter special’ which I’ve called “The Easter Surprise”.

A bit of background

Ok, so this Frog’s Bucket List ‘special’ is a little different to my normal watercolour illustrations. I’ve kept them black and white for a start – sort of comic strip style. So no watercolour – just pen and paper.

And I wanted to share with you what Frog and Frog have been up to this weekend because it’s just too cute to keep it all to myself. So instead of my normal ‘bucket list’ focus where the cartoons illustrate a bucket list item, it’s got a bit more of a narrative.

It’s basically just a sweet little Easter story to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Disclaimer: I’m putting out a cute alert for those of you who might be affected by ‘cute overload’.

Enjoy!

“The Easter Surprise” starring Frog and Frog

It was a sunny spring morning at the forest. A perfect day for some outdoor crafting.

Frog and Frog were painting Easter eggs when Frog had an idea.

They rushed back home and spent the rest of the day painting Easter eggs and making special Easter greetings cards. It was all very industrious.

Early the next morning, they tip-toed back to the forest and quietly hid the Easter eggs and cards under toadstools, in trees and beneath flowers.

Word spread, and it wasn’t long before Frog’s plan came to fruition. Woodland animals started to gather in surprise and anticipation.

Frog and Frog declared the Easter Egg Hunt officially open to all woodland creatures!

There were hedgehogs and birds, rabbits and foxes, squirrels, mice, and even a deer. They all had a lovely time hunting for the Easter gifts that Frog and Frog had so carefully painted and crafted.

Frog and Frog enjoyed watching the animals have fun in the forest. And later that evening Frog had a surprise herself when Frog gave her…

… a very special chocolate Easter egg!

They sat at the edge of the forest, sharing the chocolate Easter egg watching the sun set, feeling very lucky indeed.

The End.
